behind the organization

HOUSING ISN'T A PRIVILEGE, IT'S A HUMAN RIGHT.

The Faith Project was created to combat homelessness among the most vulnerable, but often overlooked segments of our community—veterans who’ve lost their homes because of the mental toll their service had on them, and those who have been incarcerated because of an addiction to drugs and alcohol.

On any given day, more than three thousand people in The City of Atlanta, Georgia experience homelessness—all within the city’s 130-square mile boundary. In its current state, society offers little support to those without a strong family unit who end up homeless.

We believe that housing isn’t a privilege, it’s a human right that everyone deserves. Regardless of what a person has been through, they deserve to recover in a safe space that they can call home. Because of this, The Faith Project is committed to providing the tools and environment to help addicts and veterans achieve their goal of recovery.

commited to lasting change.

The Faith Project team is made up of hardworking people who have a strong desire to help uplift and improve the lives of the most vulnerable in our community. Whether full-time or volunteers, our group of strong-willed and like-minded individuals come together to work to achieve our number one goal—helping the homeless and Veterans in Atlanta.

In addition to spearheading our own projects, The Faith Project also collaborates with other non-profit organizations and corporate entities on initiatives geared toward creating opportunities for Atlanta’s homeless. We are here to make a difference, and every member of our team works hard to ensure that our presence in the community is a force for change.

the mind
behind the faith project.

As the founder of The Faith Project, Lakeisha describes herself as a natural-born servant. Her parents set the greatest example of selfless service and compassion by welcoming foster children into their home.

From an early age, Lakeisha saw what true community upliftment looked like and developed a desire to mirror it in her own life.

Lakeisha has a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from Fort Valley State University, and is a proud Georgia resident, having been raised in Stone Mountain.

She also holds a Master's Degree in Project Management. During college, she volunteered for organizations that helped homeless adults and children, which sowed the seeds that would eventually become The Faith Project.

Before creating The Faith Project she served on the board of directors for the Atlanta Outreach Project. There, she gained the experience and expertise that helped her make The Faith Project into what it is today.

Under Lakeisha’s leadership, The Faith Project has grown from a self-funded 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to a government funded housing facility for individuals experiencing homelessness, rehabilitation, or transitioning from imprisonment.
